Depart Chiang Mai by 4-WD Land Rover or similar to the hill tribe museum at Mae Rim. Then continue to Mae Taeng for an elephant safari through the rain forest and enjoy a short ride in a traditional ox-cart. After a picnic style lunch, embark on inflatable rafts down the rapids of the scenic Mae Taeng River for about an hour (note: during the dry season between February to August, the water level in the river is usually too low for white-water rafting and you will glide downriver on bamboo rafts instead!). Continue to Baan Huai Rai, passing several villages, orchards, valleys, and rice fields. A brief stop is made at Wat Tha Kham, before driving uphill to the village of Baan Pang Hai. Enjoy the scenic drive and views on your return trip to your hotel in Chiang Mai.
