Khao Samroi Yod National Park or “Three Hundred Mountain Peaks” is located about 63 kilometers south of Hua Hin. It occupies an area of 98 sq km with undulating ranges of limestone mountains, mangrove swamps, and beaches. Drive along pineapple plantations to an unspoiled fishing village. Afterwards take a short boat trip to Sam Phraya beach. Walk up a steep, rocky trail to the famous cave called “Tham Phraya Nakhon”. The cave has a big hole through which a shaft of light reaches and permits the growth of various kinds of plants. Phra Thi Nang Khuha Kharuhat, at Thai style pavilion, lends the most attractive sight to the cave and has become the symbol of Prachuap Khiri Khan. It was constructed in 1890 during the reign of King Rama V, who raised the pavilion’s gable tops himself. Enjoy some rest on the beach before lunch, then return by boat to the mainland and transfer back to your hotel in Cha Am or Hua Hin.
